Shotup is a cinematography viewfinder and shot planning tool. Your privacy is important to us. Shotup does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All data remains on your device.
Information We Access
Camera & Microphone
Shotup accesses your device's rear camera to provide a real-time viewfinder for composing shots. The microphone is accessed when recording video clips to capture audio. Camera and microphone data is only used locally and is never transmitted.
Location Services
With your permission, Shotup accesses your location to display compass bearing and GPS coordinates as shot metadata. Location data is stored locally alongside your captured frames and is never sent to any server. You may revoke location access at any time in Settings.
Motion Sensors
Shotup uses device motion sensors to display roll angle information in the viewfinder. This data is used in real time and stored locally as frame metadata.
Photo Library (Save Only)
Shotup requests add-only access to your Photo Library when you choose to export images or videos. Shotup cannot read or access your existing photos or videos.
Data Storage
All data created by Shotup — including projects, scenes, captured images, videos, and metadata — is stored locally on your device. This includes:
- Project and scene organization
- Captured JPEG images and MOV video files
- Shot metadata (camera settings, lens information, location, notes)
- App preferences and custom configurations
No data is stored on external servers or in the cloud.
Data Sharing
Shotup does not automatically share any data. You may choose to share content using:
- The system Share Sheet (sharing is handled by iOS)
- Exporting to your Photo Library
- Exporting shot lists as PDF documents
- Opening coordinates in Apple Maps or Google Maps
All sharing is user-initiated. Shotup has no analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind.
Third-Party Services
Shotup does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or data collection services.
Children's Privacy
Shotup does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app does not collect or transmit any personal information from any user.
Changes to This Policy
